Office Interior
I have a home office and its where I spend a lot of my time. I know working from home and having your own buisness is becoming very popular these days so I thought I would share with you some tips on ideas to create a gorgeous home office!
Choose The Feel You Want- Before you start thinking about any furniture, the colours anything like that you need a direction to be heading in. Pick a feel that you want people to feel or yourself to feel when you are in your office. Whether that is a homley feel, professional, modern, girly, vintage what ever it is you would like but just get a feel you would like and head in that direction. I went for a very homely and professional and a bit of a modern twist feel to my own office at home.
Coordinate EVERYTHING- Because an office isn't a giant space if you have lots going on with different colours everywhere its going to look a mess and not feel like a professional space where you want to work. You need to keep a colour scheme within a office lets say if you have white and black with a pop of yellow that needs to be carried out through out the whole room you can't have a pop of yellow then some pink and then a bit of green oh and a touch of blue CHAOS! Keep it simple so it is simple to coordinate everything in the office to match!
Simple and Clean- Keeping an office really simple to me looks best. It adds a really professional look to your office. If you have books and papers and a huge storing cabinet filled to the brim that can look messy! I know there is so much stuff to store away in an office but one thing I recommend is getting a desk with big spacious draws. I also think having draws looks a lot neater and tidier than having a cabinet, as I said before adds a simple look!
Have a Statement Piece- At the end of the day this is your office its not at an office building so why keep it boring old black and white or grey add one statment to your office, it will mark it as your own and who wants a depressing looking office. Whether thats a chair, a desk or a very eye catching accessory, just make sure this tip is only used in a simple room not a very busy looking colourful office.
Divide the Room- I have quite a large office and this is an idea for the ones with big offices, divide the room into to sections I used a long what I call buffet unit I don't know what it is actually called but I have just a long chest of draws to seperate where my desk and computer is my 'work station' and then I have my consultation area that has a couch a tv ect where my Clients and I just chat about ideas! This something I Love about my office, you could also use a shelving unit to do this.
Give Yourself A View...But Have Privavcy- You may be like um what Sammie?! But what I mean by this is that you shoud give your self a nice view of something whether that is of the park across the street, your back or front yard or the ocean in my case because this will motivate you too work.. Well for me it does anyways but also if you have clients coming to your house like I do its more inviting for them. But also keep your privacy make sure you include some type of blinds, I like to keep them half way down so I can still see the beautiful ocean and get sunlight in but I know people aren't staring in at me working. I also think feature blinds are really nice in an office!
These are a few little ideas from my experience being an interior designer if you are designing an office or want to change yours up a bit. Feel free to contact me via my new twitter @SammieMRenzullo or in the comments about advice for your home office! xxx Sammie
Postpartum Weight Loss
This is the first of a few posts on how I am skinnier now than before I got pregnant which could also be called a weight loss journey. Jess will be included in these posts as well since she is the one that helped me get to where I am now! Today's post is going to be on my diet and how that has changed.
Jess is a personal trainer as i'm sure you would know but she also organises diets, Jess has been offering advice and help for ages now (not because she thought I was fat, out of generosity) but I never took up the offer but I finally did! Through my pregnancy I tried to be very careful with what I ate but somehow I still put on 14.8 which I was really ashamed of, must have been those cravings I gave into! After having a baby your focus is on them and I really wasn't watching what I was eating and to be honest didn't really care what I was putting into my body, if its food its food I didn't care. I wouldn't say I was eating very unhealthily it was just I wasn't doing anything with my diet to shed that terrible 14kg! My daily diet would basically consist of honey porridge (already flavoured) or toast with peanut butter or jam. I would snack on some type of bar or cake (or get some candy from the candy bar in my house... bad I know). For lunch I was really into weight watchers or lean cuisine frozen meals, somedays I would be healthy and make myself a salad or sandwich. Dinner would be leftovers family gave us, take away or stir fry something quick. My diet did change daily but overall it looked a bit like that, it was so bad but I was really stressed and because of this I neglected my body. Jess is now going to explain my new diet.
Sammie has always been someone who has had a really healthy diet so it shocked me when she told me how she was eating. I deal with new mummas all the time wanting there old body back even a new and improved body so I was in my comfort zone. Sammie, from a sisters point of view I could see she was a stressed new mum and I knew this is why her diet was how it was, I must admit I went into my health mode and I had a mini freak out, I needed to help a sister out here. I got her hubby to look after bubs while I had a chat with Sammie and sorted out her diet and exercise plan (thats a whole new post). I wanted to make sure Sammie lost these kgs but her diet was still delicious, something she would enjoy, quick and simple so here is Sammie's new meal plan which is working wonders she looks AMAZING!

2013 Home Decor Trends
To make a living I work as an interior sometime exterior designer, so I thought why not tell you about some hot interior trends for 2013! These are some trends im just in love with.
FLORAL PRINT ON A WHITE BACKGROUND:
Just a warning this look isn't for everyone but in some houses it can just look amazing! Floral print is something that seems back in the day, but it has just come back and I think you can only really make floral print work on a white background. It can add a romantic touch to a room while at the same time making a strong statement. You can go for a variety of different colours for the actual print but make sure it has a white background. Try things like cushion covers, graphic art, wall paintings, wall paper ect!
AFRICAN INFLUENCES:
African influences are becoming more and more popular this year and it is something I personally love and included in my new house. They bring warm colours and animal skin print into modern interiors. This can include wooden furniture, carvings, wrought iron, sculptures, hand made decorations that all have that defined African style. I have noticed a lot of luxury villas are including this into there interior as well, it has a really modern feel to it. It looks best in the colour pallets including blacks, dark browns, greys silvers and whites.
WALL WRITING AND SKETCHING:
This is something I love the idea of and just recently saw a clients house that I advised to do something like this and it looked so modern and so chic. This can be hard to pull off put if you have the right house it looks really great. I think you should look around for a good message or quote that you really like or something that represents your house then it is written elegantly on your hallways or even your ceilings, which can add a really modern touch.
BRASS:
Brass is THE metal at the moment with its rich look at sculptural weight it something that a lot of designers are really loving at the moment. It has such a great 70's feel to it. One thing I recommended to a client to do in there house was make there stair case black and have gold brass handles it looked so incredibly modern to something that is associated with the 70's.
GREEN:
You may be think Green... no thanks but emerald green is the the colour of 2013. One thing I will say is not to over do it other wise it will look really tacky and thats not something we want, we are going for the modern look. Not only is Emerald being used, there's lots of other varieties out there from spring green to olive. A little pop of green looks really fab. Having a black couch then adding in an Emerald seat and ottoman would look really good, A green lamp, cushion, feature wall to be more bold. I really like using blacks, greys, silvers and creams with Green it just really works.
LACE:
You know Grandma's old table cloth you thought was so out dated, your wrong it's so in right now! It has been big on the runways for awhile now but now it been brought into the home collections. Its not just plain old white lace thats in, even though that can still work i'm loving it in black its such a big spin on an old classic. Whether its a lace cushion or curtain it can look so elegant but so modern at the same time!
If you want that modern touch in your house... who doesn't if you include one of these you will instantly get that modern feel going! If you would like more of these types of posts tell me in the comments. If you need any advice message me on twitter @SammieRenzullo I will happily get in contact with you and give you advice and if you want me to come visit your house and give you some tips twitter message me I can give you my email and I will give you further info! Post Natal Depression
Having a brand spanking new baby in your life, which you created and who you brought into this world is suppose to be the most amazing, happy, exciting time of your life but for me it started off like this but went down hill very quickly.
I love my baby to death don't get me wrong he is the most beautiful little human being, but after a few weeks I just began to feel really crap and didn't feel that happy. I started to get a few weird symptoms that I didn't think were normal for a new mumma like myself. I had no confidence, I felt like I couldn't cope with this new role I had in life, I was Crying all the time, I couldn't sleep and had major anxiety which brought me back to my teenage days. This wasn't normal and then I felt so guilty that I wasn't experiencing what everyone had told me it would be like so I felt like because of how I was feeling I wasn't being the best mumma I possibly could be to my gorgeous son who couldn't survive on his own without me. I didn't really realise what was happening so I guess I could say I was being really unfair on my husband, I would snap for any little thing when he was being an amazing dad and looking after Riley while I would just sit in bed and feel terrible but I couldn't help how I was feeling. Looking after Riley during this time was so hard I had to find so much in me to actually to get up out of bed every morning and look after him while my husband was at work, I absolutely loved him deep down but I just found it hard to care for him I wasn't use to this, this responsibility it was harder than how I expected it to be I wanted my old life I had where I felt free. When people asked me how I was doing I sugar coated my experience I said it is amazing, so much easier than I thought and all that B S You can't just tell people i'm really really struggling with this, I don't want to do this anymore.
It got all too much at one stage and I just broke down I just couldn't handle it I just cried right in front of my husband, like full on cried. He was in total shock he had no clue what the hell was going on with me he thought I was going mad (I thought I was too). I told him everything how I was feeling and he was so supportive and he just wanted to get me help right away. So the next day I booked a doctors appointment and I just thought she was just going to say your hormones are going crazyyyy right now but she came right out with postnatal depression. I was like hold on... what depression?!?! I had no clue what that was I had never heard of it no one had explained what it was until then. She told me it is very common for new mummas like me to get it. I was relived to hear im not crazy and other women do get this.Being a new mum is portrayed as the most beautiful thing and for most women it is but the few of us that don't feel like that this is for you, This isn't something I really wanted to blog about but I felt a need too because In my blog posts before this I did explain it like it was perfect and some of it was true but I just made it seem sweeter than it really was because I hadn't told anyone how I was truly feeling and I felt bad lying to the people who read this blog, I wanted to write a blog that was real and not a blog with made up crap. I wanted a blog that women could relate to and for some people this happens and is part of a woman's life so I thought you the readers of this blog deserve truth and you are now getting it, as you have a right to not be reading sugar coated experiences.
Being a mumma now really is great I can truly say now being really honest it is amazing I want to make up for the type of mum I was before one who really didn't enjoy the beautiful baby I had to now appreciating every single moment I get with him! It wasn't a quick fix thing its a gradual process a very gradual process, it does get better I will promise you that, but my one tip is TALK let your feelings out to someone. It is a huge step in the right direction when you do that, it is hard trust me I know but once its out you will get help and things will start getting better and a bit easier.
I hope my story makes you aware that for not all mums having a newborn is as beautiful and lovely as it seems for a handful of people it is tough and it is a struggle and if you have, are or ever go through this terrible time you are not alone and it will get better. Im also really sorry that I wasn't completely honest in my baby updates but I just wasn't comfortable at the time expressing how I felt to the Internet without my family or friends knowing how I was feeling and I didn't even know in the early stages I had Post Natal Depression. I am well on the road to recovery now I am still getting help just to be safe, but I love my little Riley boo and I appreciate every single day and moment I get with him. All mumma's are going to be great, for some like me it just takes longer!Xxx Sammie

My Doctor got me to see someone who could help me but at the end of the day I made it worse by keeping all inside until I broke down, everyday I didn't tell someone what I was feeling it got worse. Telling my close family and friends having them support me by husband helping me to feel better about myself and as a mum and just seeing someone really made me feel better.

Rachel Wernicke and her blog Redcliffe Style:
This is a blog we discovered a few months ago and since we have found it we have just become in love with it! It is a blog about almost everything a lady would want to read. Fashion, makeup, life on being a mum, the odd exercise post, tips on how to survive life in the 21st century, and just blogging in general! One thing We love about this blog and Rachel is her sense of humour, The humour in her blog posts is what makes it unique! Every time we see there is a new blog post up WE HAVE TO READ! If you haven't checked out her blog, go do it now! We know you will love it!
Amy Zempilas and her blog Absolute Amy:
We have both been reading this blog for quite awhile now. Amy is a fellow Perthie like us so thats one thing we love about this blog! It is about in Amy's words "Fashion Beauty Motherhood and much much more". How Amy writes is just amazing, and her sense of style is A+ even when pregnant she still manages to look so good! It is such a girly blog and something you feel like you need to sit down with a cup of tea and read, we have both agreed that somehow Amy manages to write her blog posts with such a relaxed and peaceful feel to them.... maybe just us ha ha ha! But we love it and we know you all will to!
Courtney Dorsett and her blog All Things Fabulous Blog
Courtney is also a fellow Perth girl... we loveeee that! Her blog is Fabulous... ha ha! Courtney posts a lot on fashion and style but also on other things such as makeup and cooking! Her blog is a great place to go to look for style inspiration, always posts on the latest trends! None of the stuff she puts on her blog is too expensive so she really makes you want to buy whatever she features on her blog! This is just an all round amazing girly blog, but her fashion posts.... LOVE!
Kymm Battle-Burrows and her blog Designed By Wa

Not only is the blog for ladies she also posts on WA men fashion! We go up to our partners and say "do you like this piece of clothing" but I have to say they aren't as interested as us but hey.... don't us ladies by most of our partners clothing anyway so its a great way to get inspiration on what to buy for men as well as ourselves I love the idea of this blog! Fashion Winter Must Haves!
Its getting a bit chilly here in West Australia, us West Aussies aren't use to this after a friggin hot summer and I have to say I am kinda missing the heat! To deal with this weather change I have some winter essentials to show you girlies!
Cute Winter Coat:
Every lady needs a cute winter coat! I just recently got this amazing 1&20 Blackbirds coat hereThis is just the best it keeps you so warm and comfy and I think it looks great and not too mummish I hope, i'm seriously so freaked out of having mum style haha!
Pair of Boots:
Boots are what I wear most days in winter when im out running errands. I think it is a must to have a heeled and flat pair. A few weeks ago I bought these heeled pair here which I totally adore, for a heeled shoe that aren't very expensive they are fab, STEAL! I also got these flat pair here which I love. On a day where i'm out carrying around my baby I put these on 100% comfort, they are a bit on the expensive side but they are worth the price and not to mumish ha ha! As you may be able to tell I have a bit of an obsession with studs and spikes!
Uggs:
Us Malaholin's are known for our love of uggies, I can say we do have an obsession! This year JJ, Mum and I thought we needed to take this ugg boot thing to a new level so we all invested in these babies here they aren't the cheapest pair but the Malaholin girlies needed to bling it up a little LOVE them!
Hoodies:
Hoodiesss aghhhh a comfy winter hoodie on the couch with a hot drink and snuggles with my little Riles couldn't think of anything better! I found this amazing hoodie here online super comfy and love the design black and white you can never go wrong with! I think it was about last year I got a super cute hoodie from Juicy Coture, it is pretty similar to this one here I love the detailing on it, it's what takes a hoodie to the next next level!
Onesie:
Onesies the perfect winter bed time outfit! As a kid I was in love with minnie mouse so for my birthday one of my friends got me this look alike minnie onesie here she kindly told me where she got it from. I think it is so hilarious but at the same time so cute!
Jeans:
We all need a great pair of jeans. I recently just bought these here this year I am kinda more into black jeans rather than a blue pair. I usually don't buy my jeans online but these looked to good to say no to, when I received them thank God they were a perfect fit (good job me) but I love them I love the shine!
Wedged Sneakers:
HOTTNESSSSS!!!!! Im obsessed with these beautifuls here yes they are a bit pricy but who doesn't think these are just the sexiest wedged sneakers, I love these! Some other places are doing some great dupes on these for cheaper but these are just the queen!
These are just some of my winter must haves tell me in the comments what your fashion winter must haves are! Xxx Sammie
