Motherhood..

Having a child changes you. Everyone changes in their own way, but no matter how much you say you won't change... You will.

It is not just your "role" in society that changes, but your whole perspective on life and your priorities,  every decision you make you take into account your child... How it will affect them, their future and their well being, your child becomes your main focus. And this itself is a massive change in a parents life.

When I became a mother, everything changed.

Before my baby I genuinely didn't think there was a person I could love more than my husband. But now there is one little person that has changed my life, who I love more than anyone, even in a way more than my husband. In saying this, that doesn't mean I love my husband any less, I would say having a baby together has made me love him even more, seeing the love he has for our daughter, and how well he cares and protects her makes me love him more every day, our daughter had brought so much more love into our relationship. But the difference is he can care for himself, as much as I, as his wife likes to care for him, he is very capable of looking after himself. Where as a baby, they can't. You as the parent are the one that looks after them, teaches them, feeds them. You are the one keeping them alive, and this creates a very special bond and a whole new kind of love, My love for Sophie, is a love that is beyond what any words could describe.

From the day my baby was born, I found a new perspective. I have always been a buisness woman, work was something I gave a good amount of my attention to, I was an extremely hard worker. And I still am, Even though I am not "back at work" yet, I do some work from home when my baby is having a nap, or I have some free time. But it isn't as much as a priority as it was before. Yes it makes money, and my job is something I do enjoy doing, but at the end of the day its not something im willing to miss putting my baby to sleep over, or giving my baby her evening bath, or just missing out on a good few hours of play time and cuddles, or even a family holiday. I now feel like I have a significant line drawn between working and providing money for my family, and to appreciate uninterrupted time with my family, because at the end of the day thats whats important.

Growing up I always had dreams of having my own successful buisness, I didn't always get the best grades im school, and I would say some people did have low expectations of me and I want to prove people wrong,to show them I could have my very own fitness buisness, and show people I could earn a lot of money. And my husband owns his own Buisness, so I was inspired and motivated to have my own too. And before I had my baby, I was very much on my way to achieving these goals. But now that I have a baby, Dont get me wrong it is still a goal of mine to own my own buisness one day, but right now im content and happy with my life as it is. I really want to take in this time that I have with my baby, watch her grow into her own little person and make memories with her, because I know time goes by so quickly and in the coming years she will be going to school, and I wont be able to spend as much quality time with her as I do now. So it is important to me that I take this time to bond with my baby, instead of spending that time at work, when I do have time in the future to achieve my own personal goals.

My baby has honestly changed me in the best way possible, She has opened why eyes to the world in a whole new way, she has taught me so much in the little time she has been in my life, and I can't wait to watch her grow and develop even more than she already has, and experience her turning into her own little person with her own personality.... Motherhood really does change you.

We're Back!

Okay Lets face it... Its been a good while since we have uploaded a post....

Finally after a bit of an unexpected hiatus, We're Baaackkk!!! But we aren't just back.. We are back with a new name as we are sure you have noticed! This is something we have wanted to do and thought about doing for a long time now.. After much deliberation we bit the bullet... So we would like to say Welcome back to Feministic Faith. Same blog, same authors just a new name.. We love our new blog name its not only creative (which is the opposite of our previous name) but it also still represents us and what our blog is, a blog that is focused around females and focused around what we as females like to read and what we think other females would like to read.

So new name means kind of a new start right... We hope to get right back into the blogging swing. We kind of lost that for a bit, we were focusing on other things in our lives and didn't really make time for blogging and the content we were producing to be honest was just not up to scratch. Jess was out being a new mumma, giving her up most attention to her baby spending quality time with her, and figuring out the whole parenting thing of course. And Sammie was just trying to deal with the highs and lows of life.. Doing some travel but also taking on the role of a solo parent. Our little hiatus was much needed, not only did if give us a break, but it gave us a chance to update the blog (FYI little changes to the blog may occur over time) ,making it easier for you to navigate around, and we just gave it a little spruss up. We kept it basic with a black white and grey colour scheme, which we think looks much more appealing to the eye.. Well to our eyes anyway!

Our plan for the blog going foward is to hopefully get back to posting regularly. Two times a week on Mondays and Thursdays. We want to write more motherhood posts since we are both mummas now, we also want to share more of our favourite recipes, since we have so many favourites that we think need to be shared and both us have gained an interest in cooking. We also just want to do more food posts in general. And lastly Sammie being an interior designer wants to do many more interior and home decor posts, since we have hardly any of these kind of posts on the blog, yet she does if for a living.. How does that work ha ha!

So anyways we are so happy to be back especially with our new name ;) ... So check back soon for a new post.. When we will be getting right back into the blogging grind!
BIG LOVE,
JESS AND SAMMIE

Current Obsessions

Over the past few months I have discovered, and bought some amazing things that were way to good not to share. And a little sneaky purchase never hurts nobody... Right?!

|Céline Luggage Tote|
My obsession with bags is on a whole new level of Crazy. So you know I absolutely love a bag when I use it for at least 3 weeks straight, and I have used this for at least 3 months straight!! It may be a bit pricey, but it is so worth it. It is a perfect mamma bag, it is so spacious so it fits all my babies stuff and my own with even a bit extra room. And a bonus being black it goes with any outifit!

|Maybelline Instant Age Rewind|
Dark Circles be gone! I have heard so many mixed reviews about this product, but I love this product beyond! I literally look I have had a good 12 hours sleep, when in reality that doesn't happen. I love how much it brightens up my undereye area and of course covers my undereye circles, because they be major some days!!

|Valley Eye Wear Dark Tort Brown Sunglasses|
These shades have been my go to lately. I can't get enough of them. I absoloutley love how big and chunky they are, they are the perfect no makeup situation shade, and any situation shade for that matter. Not only am I totally obsessed with these, Im obsessed with the brand, they have some amazing unique sunnies that you wont find in any other store/brand! I actually have some other pairs form Valley, but favourites favourites we all have them... and right now these are the fave!

|NYX Butter LipSticks In Taffy, Little Suzie & Cotton Candy
These lipsticks are everything, honest perfection in a lippy. The colour pay off is insane good, and they are SO creamy it feels like you are literally smearing butter on your lips without the oiliness ha ha! If you haven't tried these head to your nearest target, and TRY them!

|Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream|
I have heard so much about this product for so long now and I finally went out and bought it. This stuff is literally the bomb it soothes and moisturises to the max. I love that this product can be used any where on your body, its not just specific to one area.. #winning.

|Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment|
The hype is real about this product, but the price is also real.. Its hella pricey! Recently I had been having crazy breakouts and my skin was definitely not looking its finest, so I started using this mask 1 time each week, and using it as a spot treatment whenever needed, and I can honestly say this has helped my skin clear up in record time, its incredible. This mask is my holy grail. One thing I will say is that after you use this it pushes all the impurities out of your skin so you do get a few spots after, but once they clear up.. Girl you be looking Flawless!! I also tried a couple of other masks from the range and I do like them but not as much as this one!!

Thats all my current favourites I would Love to know what you have been loving lately, or your opinions on any products mentioned!!

Nude Magique Eau de Teint Foundation Review

I am a sucker for a good foundation, I have quite the collection happening. So why not add another one to the collection and see if it will live up to my much loved revlon and mac foundations! So The other day I picked up the Nude Magique Eau de Teint Foundation, since there has been some massive hype around this product and I wanted to see for myself if this foundation would live up to the hype surrounding it.

On the Priceline website this foundation claims: A perfectly nude look and a flawless finish without the heavy make-up feel. With its lighter than water formula, Nude Magique Eau de Teint provides undetectable coverage while letting skin breathe for a fresh and flawless complexion. The velvety texture endlessly glides over skin.

I purchased this at my local Priceline for $24.95 and I got mine in the colour 140 pure beige. It Definetly does claim to do a lot, but did it live up to its words?!

The first thing that drew me straight to this product was the packaging, I knew I had to buy it as soon as I saw it. The bottle is made from glass as are many other foundations, but the shape and just in general the look of this foundation made it appear very fancy and elegant. I know, I know its not all about the packaging but it is always a bit of a bonus!

L'oreal's main focus of this product was to produce a very light feeling foundation. I do love a natural look, and I don't have terrible skin so I was excited to try this product but I still like to wear a medium coverage foundation.

As I just mentioned I do like a medium coverage foundation, but I did not expect much coverage from this product. But I was shocked at the amount of coverage I did get out of this. It does say that it is meant to be lighter than water and it is, so therefor I expected a very thin BB cream like application, but I did get surprisingly good coverage.

When It says lighter than water, it really does mean it. I was a bit shocked at how much it felt exactly like water its a bit weird really ha ha!! One thing I will say, is I think this product would work much better with some sort of pump, even though I did read you are supose to tip it on your finger tips as you would a perfume. But it can get quite messy so a pump would work much better, I'm still figuring it out!!

This foundation applied perfectly, a very smooth application. It did say to apply with your fingertips and the first time I did it that way, but I must say I did actually prefer using a foundation brush. I felt like I could blend it out a lot better with my brush. But that is just personal choice. As I did mention L'oreal does suggest you tip it out just as you would a perfume, but I do feel like I tip out too much every time, which isn't very convenient. I do love the fact its like water though, very cool! I use around a 10c-20c  piece amount to cover my whole face depending on how much I tip out and how my skin is looking, it is very buildable. It feels incredibly Light on your face, goes on so perfectly and gives a good amount of coverage.
This foundation lasts really well on me, I haven't noticed it sliding off at all but I do always use a primer and a light dusting of powder over top. I'm really impressed with how long it stays on my face considering how light it is. It lasts me a good 6-8 hours depending on the day. And I mean it doesn't look absolutely terrible after that, a bit of extra powder and im good to go!

Overall I really did love this product. But I did wish it had some kind of pump, so I didn't always have so much extra wasted product. And I still did need a bit of concealer for those undereye circles and for the odd spot if I had one but it does have very buildable coverage. I loved the feeling that I didn't have any foundation on, and the fact that it is just so easy to wear. It is a really easy application to the face with great buildable coverage. It gave my skin a really natural flawless finish with a beautiful natural, dewy glow. And the bottle was stunning a real winner for me. I was beyond impressed with this product, and it is a great everyday foundation. I wouldn't wear it out at night but for the day time its perfect. I really did hope this product would live up to the hype and for me personally it really did. This product is amazing a huge Welldone to L'oreal on this one, Absolute Love! xx Sammie

*This was my own personal review, not everyone may get the same results.
