Juicing||Get Fit February

Lately I have joined the juicing train and have become totally obsessed, Juices are so incredibly healthy and an amazing tasty way to sneak in those extra fruit and vegies into your diet! I think juices and juice cleanses are the perfect way to kick start your health and Get Fit February journey. I love the brand called Pressed Juices I really reccomend you check out there website, they taste amazing! They ship to all the main cities in Australia.I just buy in bulk and they last really well,They also do cleanses. Even though I love pressed juices it works out to be really expensive to keep ordering them online, so I wanted to share with you some of my favourites that I make at home!

Carrot Beetroot and Apple Juice:
- 2 carrots
- 1 Beetroot
- 2 apples
- 1 celery stick
- 2 oranges

- 1 celery stalk
- large handful of spinach leaves

Make Time For You-Shoutout to the Mummas| Get Fit February

I am the first one to admit that I really didn't make enough time for myself. Becoming a mum really through me off with the concept of focusing on me. Firstly because I was,a first time mum and wanted to get the whole parenting thing down fully before I focused on myself,I went about 3 weeks straight up no make up and hair in a pony or top knot everyday and if you know me you know I am not usually the type of person not to maintain my appearance. Once I kinda.. Sort of got the whole parenting thing, It kind of sunk it how much weight a I really did have to lose, I remember I just looked im the mirror and I can quote what I said "Shit how fat did a i get during pregnancy, this will take 5 years to get rid of". By my reaction you would think righto she's going to get right to buisness, and lose what she wants to lose. But not this one, I was so overwhelmed, I had never been that big in my life. I wasn't fat but I just wasn't use to seeing myself at that weight (without a bump it sinks in). So I decided just to forget about it and breastfeeding did help a bit and thats why I was kinda like oh its just coming off I'll keep doing this. But after a bit it all slowed down breastfeeding wasn't helping and I was left feeling and looking flabby as hell, I hated my body I didn't feel like Sammie. Thats when I thought F**k this so I called Jess and this was the best thing, she's worked with a lot of mums and knows what to Say to get us motivated. Her key message was Make time for you. And it was so true. At that stage I had a husband who was willing to look after Ri while I worked out (3x a week with Jess), and did the grocery shopping for healthy produce and I started noticing huge changes in my body, and also the people around me were noticing.. So I knew I was doing something right by making just that little bit of time for myself!
"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch"
Now it has become much harder being separated and just being me and Ri, but I had to keep making time for me other wise everything would just go down hill. I have a nanny who will watch Ri when I am working but I didn't really want a nanny with him every minute of the day I'm the mum I should be with him. But I had to make time for me aswell as Riley. I now take one day off a week where I spend the whole day with Riley, If I workout I will do a DVD so Riley can sit and watch on the couch and play. I make sure every morning We play together and I get to see him wakeup. And I will put him to bed. So my me time is usually in the afternoon, NO EXCUSES, and I do at least an hour workout, only and hour if he is with his nanny but maybe a little extra if he is with a family member.
"Believe in redefining your impossible"
Its a time where I can focus on my body, and I feel like now that I'm 100x more self confident i'm a better parent. so new mummas, any mum who doesn't make enough time for them anything is possible, you deserve a bit of time for you! This isn't just for new mums this is for anyone who is leading a crazy life or feels like they have no time MAKE TIME! It doesn't have to be going to the gym how you spend your you time it could be a pedicure, or a shopping trip all that stuff is good for your mental health. But trust me if I didn't bite the bullet to go to Jess and say to myself I need to do something for myself for once, its not being selfish, its improving me as a person... I would just be getting bigger and bigger and becoming unhealthy and unhealthier. DO SOMETHING FOR YOU! X x x Sammie
"The first step is always the hardest but you'll never regret it"

Riley's First Birthday!

My baby boy is now 1 years old! I can't believe he has been in my life for one year, it feels like just yesterday I was in the labour room in a shit load of pain giving birth to this cheeky one. it has gone extremely quickly, he's Growing up way to fast (doesn't every mumma say that) but it is true. he is the biggest blessing and everyday I am so grateful for him, he doesn't even know how much joy and strength he gives me (aghh look at me getting all teary) just love my baby boy more than words can describe, Mummas I'm sure your feeling me on this one! I think most children get thrown a huge 1st birthday and Riley was no exception.. I wanted to go all out,I mean he his such an angel he totally deserved it!!! Riley is obsessed with the boats, pirates, sailors and just any thing to do with the ocean so I took that concept and planned the whole day around that! Everyone had such a great time, even the adults, I didn't want the adults being bored! We played games, ate cake, danced, opened what seemed like a thousand presents and soo much more. I can't wait to plan his 2nd birthday.. Seriously kids birthdays are so much fun to plan.. Like SO much fun.. It was the best day!!!

Riley on his birthday morning.. Waiting for presents!

Rocking his new track suit from G'ma which he loves (she wanted him to put it on right away ha ha) even though it was boiling hot haha.. He lasted 2 seconds in it!!!

Our thankyou's to our guests, writing book and coloured crayons, can't go wrong!

Bubbles dessert and sailor teddies.. Kids dream!

I can say our dessert table was truly a hit.. For the kids oh and also the adults!

How cute are the sailor themed pop corn boxes!!

We did invite quite a few people so this area was perfect.. So I didn't have 100000 kids running around crazy, this room is so plain so the HUGE balloons, and wind mills made this the perfect party room!!

This Cake.. The cutest kids cake maybe EVER!!! It was chocolate inside who wouldn't love!!!

This was such an amazing day and something I will always remember.. And something that Riley will always look back on with photos and videos (seriously I think I may have over done it)! Thanks to everyone who came and made this memory with us and Riley is living in toy heaven right now thanks everyone from the R Man!!!! A memory that will never be forgotten X x x Sammie

Motivation|Get Fit February

Motivation is the biggest part on a journey to lose weight or live a healthy lifestyle. It is the start of your goal, but it is the hardest thing to gain, the bed may be feeling way to comfy or you might be a bout tired or there's always tomorrow. I have some advice to help you get out the door and workout or how to stick to healthy eating.

Buy new workout clothes/shoes- This is one of the best ways to motivate ladies to get out the door. A new outfit can make us really excited and we want to wear it usually asap.I say splurge, If you see some really cute nike shoes buy them. At the end of the day your health is way more important and can me way more expensive if you don't look after it than that little bit more money you spent on shoes that will motivate you to workout.

Lay your workout clothes out every night- So you have your outfit but that bed might still be way too comfy to get out of, if your alarm goes off and you have your cute new outfit look right at you, how can that not be at least a little bit of motivation and guilt you into getting out of bed and going for that workout!

Organise a friend to go with you- If you have made an exercise date with a friend, how can you say no?! You are pretty much trapped in to going. I also find working out with a friend so much more fun, you have someone to catch up on gossip with but also someone to motivate you more.

Have an achievable specific goal- achievable is key word here. Don't set a goal for example I want to lose 35 kilos, because losing weight is a task and it is a slow process, so if you have a big goal its easier to give up. An achievable goal might be I want to lose 5kgs in 3 weeks. Another achievable goal could be If I remain healthy all week I get one treat meal the following week.. Get my drift?!

Reward yourself when you reach a goal- its a huge achievement when you do reach a goal and something to keep you going is taking a moment to realise the achievement, then reward your effiorts. That could be a new pair of Lorna Jane tights, or a new bikini, or even going out for a nice meal (as a treat meal) do whatever you like, just make sure to reward you! You deserve it!

Set A Workout Playlist- ITunes actually sells workout songs and I have to say some are pretty good they really motivate you up in the gym. But I personally prefer creating my own! I am REALLY loving Beyonce's new album at the moment my total gym jam (and any time jam at the moment). Music just makes you go that extra mile.

Thinking about cake?!- Stop yourself think of the goal you have made, think how close you are, think about how far you have come and think about how much further back this one piece of cake will make you!

Well I hope these ideas help you get that little bit motivated.. I know its hard but once you get into a routine and become closer to your goal that motivation will stick with you! If you have any tips you personally do to get yourself motivated I would love to know about them! X x Jessica

2014.. New Beginnings New Adventures

Life brings you the most unexpected things. Sometimes its amazing, sometimes its really quite shitty (mind my french) but I think no matter how shitty a time in your life it is for a reason. I recently filed for divorce and have basically become a single mumma. As heartbreaking of a time this was/is I believe that is for a reason and Its something for me to learn from, and something like that and im sure other people can relate it makes you feel stronger. For awhile, while I was married I was a very negative sad person and people were starting to see that. But I think getting a divorce was the start of something new and as corny as this may sound a new begining. My life was just same old same old, Being what a good wife should do trying help my husband at the time out of a deep state of sadness, trying to be a good mum and spend as much time with my son, trying to be a good buisness owner and run my buisness. While TRYING to fit time in for family and friends. It all just involved the same old trying to please everyone. Everyday was a routine I knew what was going to happen EVERYDAY and that becomes very boring. The only thing unexpected was what mood my husband was going to be in and what he was going to do today, which isn't something exciting.

Once I had filed for divorce, it was a really sad time it was really tourture, because you still care and want the best  but you just can't physcially do anymore for that person. It was a time that forced me too look at my life reflect, spend a lot more time with family and friends. It was also a time for me to focus on me, and where over time I realised that things happen for a reason.  Spending time with my family and friends bought me happiness and a sense of fun in my life, and seeing my son having fun is one of the most beautiful things and it makes me happy because things must have felt like routine to him too. Same environment, same games, same food. After listening to podcasts every night of motivational speakers I have learnt that life is a party you can either wait outside the party miss out and let life go by you, or you can join in and think positively and enjoy the party that is life! Routine and having everything same same can make you sad but if you just change things up a bit, you notice that little bit of happy light shining through. Im not saying it will be easy or it will work for you but I feel like if you spend a little time focusing on you, and not all the negatives in life and have a bit of adventure things will start to change in your mindset and once your mindset changes your life can change. This year for me is a year for adventuring the world, experiencing new countries and new things, focusing on my fitness and focusing on being the best me I possibly can be! I wish you all the best for 2014! And I hope this year is the best year yet for you all! X x Sammie
