Motivation is
the biggest part on a journey to lose weight or live a healthy lifestyle. It is the start of your goal, but it is the hardest thing to gain, the bed may be feeling way to comfy or you might be a bout tired or there's always tomorrow. I have some advice to help you get out the door and workout or how to stick to healthy eating.
Buy new workout clothes/shoes- This is one of the best ways to motivate ladies to get out the door. A new outfit can make us really excited and we want to wear it usually asap.I say splurge, If you see some really cute nike shoes buy them. At the end of the day your health is way more important and can me way more expensive if you don't look after it than that little bit more money you spent on shoes that will motivate you to workout.
Lay your workout clothes out every night- So you have your outfit but that bed might still be way too comfy to get out of, if your alarm goes off and you have your cute new outfit look right at you, how can that not be at least a little bit of motivation and guilt you into getting out of bed and going for that workout!
Organise a friend to go with you- If you have made an exercise date with a friend, how can you say no?! You are pretty much trapped in to going. I also find working out with a friend so much more fun, you have someone to catch up on gossip with but also someone to motivate you more.
Have an achievable specific goal- achievable is key word here. Don't set a goal for example I want to lose 35 kilos, because losing weight is a task and it is a slow process, so if you have a big goal its easier to give up. An achievable goal might be I want to lose 5kgs in 3 weeks. Another achievable goal could be If I remain healthy all week I get one treat meal the following week.. Get my drift?!
Reward yourself when you reach a goal- its a huge achievement when you do reach a goal and something to keep you going is taking a moment to realise the achievement, then reward your effiorts. That could be a new pair of Lorna Jane tights, or a new bikini, or even going out for a nice meal (as a treat meal) do whatever you like, just make sure to reward you! You deserve it!
Set A Workout Playlist- ITunes actually sells workout songs and I have to say some are pretty good they really motivate you up in the gym. But I personally prefer creating my own! I am REALLY loving Beyonce's new album at the moment my total gym jam (and any time jam at the moment). Music just makes you go that extra mile.
Thinking about cake?!- Stop yourself think of the goal you have made, think how close you are, think about how far you have come and think about how much further back this one piece of cake will make you!
Well I hope these ideas help you get that little bit motivated.. I know its hard but once you get into a routine and become closer to your goal that motivation will stick with you! If you have any tips you personally do to get yourself motivated I would love to know about them! X x Jessica
